Curbside Recycling

Available within the city limits of Madras. There is no additional charge for a 68-gallon commingled recycle cart, picked up once a month.

Here is what you can mix together in your recycle cart:

  • Newspapers
  • Small pieces of corrugated cardboard
  • Scrap paper including magazines & catalogs
  • Paperboard
  • Plastic bottles 1-7
  • Aluminum, & tin cans

No glass please.

Recycle Depot

Available 24-7 and located at 1778 NW Mill St in the Madras Industrial Park.

We can accept:

  • Newspaper
  • Corrugated cardboard
  • Glass bottles and jars, (clear, brown and green)
  • Plastic milk jugs only (no other plastics)
  • Tin
  • Aluminum
  • Magazines
  • Paperboard (such as cereal boxes)
  • Motor oil

Preparation Guidelines

Corrugated Cardboard

Flatten all boxes.
No waxed please.
No packing peanuts or styrofoam.
Please no plastic liners or packing materials.

Paperboard

Non-corrugated cardboard. Includes items such as cereal boxes and shoe boxes.

Motor Oil

Place in a one gallon or smaller plastic container with a lid.

Plastic Milk Jugs

Plastic milk jugs are the only plastic bottles accepted at the recycle depot.

Plastic Bottles 1-7

Remove lid, rinse well and flatten.

Aluminum and Tin

Rinse well and flatten.
*If you are not sure if it is tin or aluminum, an easy way to test is to use a magnet. A magnet will not stick to aluminum.

Magazines and Catalogs

Place in bin loose.

Newspapers

Bundle with twine or stack in a paper bag.

Glass Bottles and Jars

Rinse, remove lids and separate by color (Brown, Green, & Clear).
No Pyrex, china, glassware, or window glass.
